VITA-BIOTIC SHRIMP is a unique combination of short and medium chain fatty acids, prebiotic and plant derivates.
This formula incorporates different modes of action:
SHORT & MEDIUM CHAIN FATTY ACIDS
Short & medium chain fatty acids of lauric acid for antibacterial and antiviral action. MCFA of lauric acid disrupts the
outside lipid membranes of gram positive bacteria and fat-enveloped viruses. Its amphiphilic nature forms micelles
which allows it to penetrate these lipid membranes, causing them to leak and die. MCFA have a much stronger
anti-bacterial effect when compared to its corresponding free fatty acid.
INULIN
Inulin is a prebiotic: a prebiotic is a dietary supplement product that confers a health benefit on the host. Prebiotics
are substances that can promote the growth of beneficial microorganisms, mainly in the intestinal tract, and will
modify the colonic microbiota.
Inulin is an oligosaccharide used in the animal diet as a functional fiber. Inulin has so many beneficial effects on the
immune system, lipid metabolism and helps in mineral absorption and has the ability to balance the intestinal
microbiota of animals.
OREGANO
Oregano with carvacrol changing permeability of cytoplasmic membrane for cations as H+ an K+.
PROVEN BACTERIOSTATIC ACTIVITY
Proven Bacteriostatic activity against Vibrio parahaemolyticus that causes Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease
(AHPND) in shrimp and antiviral activity against White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV).
